Hugin

Take some overlapping photographs, load them into the Hugin application, and you will be able to come up with a beautiful panorama. That is the sort of functionality you can expect to get from Hugin. The very nice thing is that it is quite easy to stitch photos together in order to create a stunning panorama with this free and open source tool.

Hugin is available for Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows. The Windows installation file is about 20MB in size. Download this file, run it, and you will be presented with a setup wizard that invites you to install Hugin in the languages of your choice - English, German, or Italian. A few clicks later you will be done with the installation and you’ll be able to start enjoying Hugin on your PC.

Hugin features a tabbed interface – in the upper part of the application’s interface you have the Assistant, Crop, Mask, Optimizer, Stitcher, and several other tabs. Above these tabs there are buttons for various functions the application can perform and a traditional File menu.
